Our 2022 rectangle brick pressing of the mid-spring harvest is complex and floral with notes of tree sap and fragrant resin.
This brick brews up a deep amber that smells exactly like the resin and tree sap notes in the description—unexpectedly floral on the tongue. The 2022 pressing is still young but already smooth with zero harsh bite, and it holds up well through three infusions.
I’ve been drinking this every morning for a week and the resin note really comes through, almost like a forest smells after rain. The brick is firm but flakes apart easily enough for a gaiwan session, and it holds its floral character for a solid ten steeps.
The brick breaks cleanly with a knife, and once steeped, the liquor is surprisingly smooth with that resinous sweetness lingering on the tongue. I've been brewing it every afternoon for a week and the floral depth only gets more pronounced with each rinse. Definitely worth the price for this vintage
