Doi Wawee Sheng Pu'er Vintage Primavera 2022

This is my first raw pu'er from Thailand and the garden-direct sourcing really comes through in the leaf quality. The liquor is clean and bright with that classic sheng sweetness that lingers nicely.

Brewed a session yesterday and the leaves opened up beautifully, holding their character through eight steeps without turning bitter. The raw pu'er bite is there but it's rounded out by that Thai garden terroir, which I've never quite tasted in Yunnan versions. Already looking at my next order.

The first steep has that clean, grassy bite I look for in a young sheng, but it softens into something almost honeyed by the third round. Direct from the garden means the leaves are intact and lively, not crushed. Already ordered a second cake to let age.
