The first steep already gave me that deep garnet color and a smoothness that coats the whole mouth—no bitterness at all. I’ve been brewing it a second time and it still holds that mellow, earthy sweetness beautifully.
The liquor is so dark and dense it almost looks black in the cup, yet it drinks incredibly smooth with that rich earthy sweetness. I’ve had a few cakes that turned bitter on the second steep, but this one stayed mellow right through.
